The academics at my school are some of the best in the state. The top 10 in my grade are well above a 4.0. The teachers all have different methods of teaching but they all do a great job at working through the material and presenting it in a new way. The scheduling process is all completed a few weeks before school starts during class meetings with the principal. That portion is a bit hectic, but after that it is smooth. The curriculum is progressively challenging as you get older. The workload also increases substantially with age. There aren't really any popular classes. Teachers are more than willing to help so there isn't a great need for special study options. You just go and talk to your teacher before, during, or after class.

There are many different types of extracurricular activities outside of sports. FCCLA, FCA, HOSA, Band, Choir, FFA, NHS, and FBLA are the activites available. The administration supports each organization and a budget is allowed for each as well. Along with service projects for most of the organizations, there are fun games and student involvement too. Most clubs meet monthly or biweekly either during study hall or after school.
There are only 5 black students in grades 7-12 otherwise the rest are white. Of those in the minority they are accepted. There aren't any students of a sexual orientation other than heterosexual. In general, most students are accepted; however, there are a few who don't make any effort to be friends with those outside their small friend-group. There is a bit of peer pressure but nothing more than most schools. Students are very involved and take pride in their hard work.
