I really enjoyed my time in high school. Although it is being cut short due to COVID-19, the approaches my school has taken in addressing everyone's concerns is incredible. If anything, I do wish there was a bit more of Asian representation in the school. As an Asian Indian myself, I would have loved to see events or clubs where we could all enjoy together. I also wish we had a larger selection of AP or IB classes (that we could've taken earlier on as well)! We should have more clubs like–math club or chess club!

I’ve gone to school in the Papillion LaVista school district since pre-school, so I’m really accustomed to the way things go. I’ve met some of my best friends from school, and some really influential teachers. I feel that my school does a great job in pushing us academically, while also giving us much needed breaks when desired. Having the opportunity to take different level classes based on if you need a slower paced learning style or a more challenging one to make you better helps a lot. I’m involved in many different clubs, and it really helps when it comes to college, but I’ve learned that being involved in extra curricular activities gives you the opportunity to get involved in your community while also meeting new people and spending time with classmates that you usually don’t interact with. When people ask me where I go to school, I’m always proud to say I’m a Monarch!
Excellent support from the administration. Great support given once a student qualifies for special services.
More needs to be done to eliminate bullying and harassment. School Resource Officer should work to better the school environment before, during, and after school. This would make the students and parents feel like the school is a safe, drug free environment where they can become the best learner possible.
PLHS has the foundation needed to be an exceptional place for students to prepare for the next step in their life- adulthood. They just need to listen to all students and consider that each and everyone of them are individuals with different needs and a variety of life issues with which they are going through at any given moment. Remember to walk a mile in the other person’s shoes before you judge, condemn, or make any decisions which may alter their life’s path!
