PLHS is a wonderful school, and everyone is very open and warm. The teachers are willing to go out of their way for students - academically or otherwise - and are brilliant themselves. For you foodies, the food choices are excellent. There’s usually five main meal options. The students at this school are also really open and understanding of each other, which is amazing considering most of us have at least one mental issue. Everyone is really inclusive of the special need students as well, and make them feel cared about. There are many academic options and levels, so you’ll be sure to find out what’s right for you! I highly recommend PLHS to anyone coming to Papillion La Vista.
My freshman year is when Covid-19 hit. My class, class of 2023, had finally found our place in the crowded halls. Due to the school district shutting down, we as a class didn't get the full freshman experience and because of this, I believe, we lack school spirit. The spirit of cheering on our football or basketball teams or the excitement from our pep rally's. I wish my school did more to bring the school together. One thing I do enjoy about my high school are the teachers. There are some that lack the motivation to teach and are only there for the pay check but there are also some amazing teachers and staff there as well. Through out the 4 years I've been there, I've had multiple teachers that I have gone back too, to take another one of their classes. Those teachers make my day less stressful and more enjoyable. They make me and other students ready and eager to learn. On those days that are more challenging, I know the teachers will be there to listen or give honest life advice.
Not terrible, a little crammed with students if anything. Better than surrounding schools in my opinion, teachers aren’t always great but a couple great ones. Good higher level academics (Ap and Honors classes). On level classes curriculum and teaching isn’t great but could be worse. A lot of academies for different interests (amazing programs). Overall good compared to some public schools but there is always rooms for improvement
