Pangburn High School Reviews

Pangburn uses a system that I believe prepares the students for real life and also for college. They have the best school staff I've ever dealt with. They care about their students and do all they can to help when they need it. They have an advisor that stays with a student from 9th - 12th grades. This way they really know the student and learn their weakness and strengths. I'm very thankful for this school.
With the introduction of "flex schedules" in the past few years, everything has been quite a mess. The system relies on kids to take the initiative to do their work on their own, which in turn results in many kids falling behind - and some even dropping out. It's a system that I truly believe could work, but only under perfect circumstances. The sad truth is that most kids don't have the drive to do it on their own. Not only that, I feel as though I and my peers have been used as guinea pigs. We were forced into this unstructured system without a choice and lack stability and consistency. The system changes each year as the one before fails. I, like many others, have no other school district nearby that I could even attend instead.
I moved to Pangburn schools in the 6th grade and it was the best choice I have made in my path of education. The way we have our program, the flex schedule, really allows us to work at our own speed and get more one-on-one time with teachers and to get the help we need. We are also allowed to take college courses in high school and gain college credits, or you can go to a tech program, like Mechanics or Welding. We also have a career coach now who helps us majorly with college, scholarships, or even for people going straight into the workforce find jobs.
Pangburn High School is the school I will be graduating through May 3, 2020. Their main goal is getting our work done and making sure we have the time to to do it. We go at our own pace and it is amazing. The only thing I would change is less work online and more back on pencil and paper. Also the NO BULLYING ALLOWED needs to be enforced better.
The students organize into groups. They are similar to gangs. They vape in the bathroom. No one cares because sports kids never get into trouble. If you aren't popular, prepare to be pelted with food in the lunchroom. This school will drain the life from you if you let it.
I'm a Senior at Pangburn High School and have gone here since, 4th grade. The people make you feel like you're a part of a big family. While the food isn't AMAZING it can definitely fill you up!! Also there's a big sports involvement and a dedicated fine arts program.
They make it very relatable.
FCCLA, FBLA, FCA, & ETS are very popular clubs here, FCCLA puts on Sweetheart Ball which is kind of like prom but for people who are in it. FBLA competes in a lot of programs. FCA is an christian athletic program that is very involving with the community. ETS is a good college ready program
Yeah, some of the teachers and/or students aren't all that great but, that's with anywhere. This school is a lot more friendly compared to some of the other schools I have been to. You actually have to try to fail in order to actually fail here. A lot of the school work is easy as long as you listen 3/4 of the time. Everyone will help you out with stuff if you ask.
I have gone to this school all my life, and I honestly wouldn't want it any other way. I have grown a relationship with people in the community and school staff. I have many favorite experiences I couldn't choose just one to talk about. What makes this school unique is the open arms to new students.
I would have to say that the teachers at my school are very helpful towards the students. They are always willing to help students. Most also have very good communication skills with responding to students. I mean there will always be personality conflicts between some teachers and students. Overall it is a very nice environment.
Over all this year has been a blast, it is my last year here and making the best of it is what I want to do. Everyone at the school knows you, either because you are family or family friends, no matter what though this school is always willing to step up and help out if a students ever needs help. I am president of FFA and before we got such an amazing officer team FFA was laughed at, but being a crucial part in changing the club I have seen it go from, "Pangburn has an FFA?" to everyone in the community knowing that we do have a FFA club and it is doing big things. One of my favorite subjects so far this year is physics, our teacher is the best. We do not just sit in a class room all the time but sometimes we go out to the creek to see wildlife and talk about ways that we can restore the creek. That is mainly what this school is about, seeing something that needs attention or helping and doing whatever we can to fix it.
This is an amazing school with top facilities and great administration. The school is growing and getting involved with more activities that the students could choose to do.
I was super hard for me in middle school and my first years of high school, but now everything isn't too bad.
While it's getting better the curriculum is very strict. The schedule leaves little study time and workload can be huge on a bad day.
There's really just the cheerleaders and the basketball team, and you have to be a well-liked person to be on those teams.
