I've been diagnosed with high functioning Autism at the age of 5 and big changes are not exactly my favorite. The first week of school wasn't easy as I needed extra time to get used to the new faces and completely different "environment". However, the wonderful teachers and administration staff were so nice, patient and willing to give me the extra time I needed. This is not common in a public school so I feel very fortunate. Today I'm a senior at Palo Verde and I am thankful to many incredible people who helped me along the way. I'm a senior at Palo Verde and I am thankful to many incredible people who helped me along the way. My counselor prepared me for the next step, college! My teachers encouraged me to become a diligent student and trained me to develop a hunger for learning. It is because of them and their dedication that today I am stronger, focused on my goals and ready for my next adventure.

Overall, Palo Verde is a good school that supplies an adequate education. When the teachers are good, they're excellent. The majority of work from teachers is fair, and lessons are comprehensible. Many teachers prioritize on college readiness. The majority of administration is kind and helpful. This school does very well with spirit weeks and school culture.
However, the school does have its share of teachers that are rude and uncaring. Though the school has taken recent measure to increase safety, I sometimes feel as if security and school police are unhelpful. Facilities and school technologies are faulty and slow, as well. Cafeteria food is poor quality, and vending machines supply few healthy options.
Despite its need for improvements in some areas, I do like this school. The overall vibe from Palo Verde is welcoming and caring, and it is one of the best schools in the Las Vegas area.
I couldn't ask for a better high school! There's so many opportunities and activities, even our school has an IB (international bachelorette) program that sets you up for a college experience in your junior year through your senior year. Palo is actually worth going to and if you join a program like: dance, art, band, orchestra, choir, theatre, sports, clubs, student council, or even your own class, you'll instantly gain so many friends. Our school is also known for its althetic achievements and it shows on the endless banners hung up on our gym covering both sides front and back, even when you walk through the entrance there's a hall of fame with pictures of star althletes and their achievements! Palo Verde is also one of the best high schools of Nevada, of the CCSD district. It's a really cool place to be in and if you're considering a high school to go, please go to Palo Verde High School.
