This is a great school for kids who need more individualized learning. There are many opportunities for kids interested in robotics or basketball or that are above average students, but unfortunately not much else. With the exception of Leap Days, there are not many electives that are not languages or computer related. The school will have a new Principle and VP soon, so that will hopefully change. Expect your kids to be challenged. They do offer a good amount of tutoring options and extra help which is always a plus. My experience was not the best, but I know a lot of kids who benefited greatly from PSA. The social aspect can be tricky to navigate if your kid has a hard time making and maintaining friendships. I left high school with one friend, but I had great relationships with many of the teachers. PSA is more than academically challenging, but doing it right can be great for kids' futures.

There’s none better than PSA. Its mission is to provide an accelerated academic environment for students who are academically gifted. PSA is very engaging. Most coursework applies to real-world events and life skills. PSA also has a warm community that is just like family. It's clear that the faculty truly wants us to succeed. Most of the teachers are also academically gifted and experts in their field, so we learn from the best! Another perk is that since the curriculum is accelerated, all graduates finish all required high school work by the first semester of 11th grade. After, students take real college classes through local colleges that PSA partners with. Many teachers at PSA are qualified to teach college classes, so they also teach some. I graduated high school with 22 college credit hours and academic honors, which was all built into PSA's curriculum! If you want an amazing high school experience, academic challenges, and a heap of college credit, apply to PSA today!
Palmetto Scholars is a small school which allows teachers to have one on one conversations with students in and out of the classrooms. The academic system is very unique, it gives students the ability to rise to the test and use out of the box thinking to solve things. Students are above average, you can be a sophomore taking Bio 101 & 102, and Calculus. Our school is not only known for our academics but our soccer team won first in the region along with our softball team. Our Band has recieved and superior with distinction for CPA along with our PSA choir. When have multiple awards in VEX robotics. Once a month we have a leap day which is one day where we don't have our normal classes, we do different things like community services, Legos, NHD, House Council, and etc. PSA is a family, we look out for each other and help reach our goals from the help of our teachers and fellow classmates.
