The memorable experience of Palmetto Ridge High School is the amount of school spirit it contains. Students get excited for pep rallies, and not only to get out of class. With all of the student participation, pep rallies are an excellent way to get students encouraged for the sport games held, school danced, and clubs and organizations. The Palmetto Ridge staff try their hardest to continue this excitement in their classes by explaining any questions during class. In fact, many teachers are truly trying their best to help out students in any way possible. However, not every high school is perfect. The guidance counselors make it difficult for students to switch out of classes that they are struggling with and do not wish to be in anymore. The faculty at PRHS, although cheery, does not do enough for torment and bullying that students in their school might be receiving. Furthermore, the school does not provide efficient help for students suffering in personal life ordeals.

Palmetto Ridge High School is a great, under appreciated school that holds a diverse student body and staff. They offer great classes, such as advanced placement and AICE classes, with some AICE classes with even an 100% consistent passing rate, the school provides students with a basis for college.
Although they do provide all that support, the staff takes rules and strictly enforces it. Being out of dress code, late, and missing an ID can result in several minutes, up to even an entire class period missed to deal with it.
With around 2,000 students, the school may be hard to keep up with. Even getting around to other classes can be a struggle, with only two staircases for all students trying to get up and down to get to their classes in five minutes. While the size is an issue there, it makes school spirit amazing and extracurriculars worth while. The school puts a lot of effort into making their students feel proud of their school during school and during sports.
My experience with Palmetto Ridge High School overall has been incredible. I met a large group of friendly and accepting people, and many wonderful teachers. PRHS has a wide variety of classes and electives to choose from, including classes for trade industries like construction and culinary. Many of my teachers were not only great instructors but people who were able to give me wisdom and advice if I was struggling, and were even more-so enjoyable to learn from. While sometimes I wished guidance counselors had talked to me more about preparing for college and scholarship application, in the end they did all they could to inform and prepare me. Overall, I'm glad that I was able to be a part of Palmetto Ridge's student body.
