Pca is complicated. As some of the other reviews say, academically it is great. If you are looking for a place that gives engaging lectures and really gets you interested in the material then yeah, go to pca. But it also has such an attitude and the environment is tense. The classes, though engaging, have a lot of extra work, shame(depending on how you are doing in the class), and stress with them. Pca is a very stressful environment, high standards, bratty students, and strict teachers. It’s a no excuses type of place, and if you let up a bit academically you will be shamed and pressured. It has great learning and courses, but they are overshadowed by the negative attitude most teachers have to students. There is no grace, no understanding, and pca is not a good environment for a kid no matter how good it’s academics are. The students, mostly, are very judgmental and have the same no excuses attitude when it comes to everything. they are just mean. I’ve spent over 3 years here.
Overall the school is awesome if you are looking for a smaller private school. The teachers and administration are amazing and really do care for the students. The school is working out a few things such as policies and rules. As a student it can be difficult to get your ideas to happen, but they do try most of the time. I would recommend the school to my friends!
PCA as a school left me with a lot of mixed emotions. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how many issues I experienced while I was attending the school.A lot of the problems were just simply unfair to my family and there was not a lot of room for grace. To summarize for you my family has been with PCA for about fifteen to twenty years about. Every year there has not been an issue with my family and the school. On the other hand, I will always have a special place in my heart for a lot of the teachers there. The teachers can be very down to earth while still remaining professional about the topics being taught. Personally, I feel like now I could go back and talk to most teachers as if they were still a close friend. Furthermore, The sports were great. Tough, definitely because I have tendinitis in both hips and knees so watch your knees and stuff. But its up to you to decided if the annoying unfairness is out weighed by the awesome friendships.
