From Palm Beach Day Academy

At Palm Beach Day Academy, Florida’s first independent school, students live in a school culture that expects and honors personal effort, achievement, and character. They are taught the value of sustained effort, focused thinking, open-mindedness, and consideration for others. Students do not simply attend school; they gain an enduring confidence that will allow them to speak up, attempt more, show compassion, question, and adapt to all challenges in an ever-changing world. Our teachers are committed to finding the proper balance of nurturing support and challenging demands for each child. Their dedication goes well beyond time in the classroom to Enrichment, athletics, and extra help. PBDA is regarded as a welcoming “family” school, a characterization that is more than a slogan; it’s lived by the children, teachers, and parents at PBDA.

Palm Beach Day Academy is an absolutely fantastic school. We moved to the area about 7 years ago without knowing much about the school options in the area and we immediately fell in love with the school. It has a warm environment where they strive to always put the best interest of our children first. The teachers are out of this world and couldn’t possibly be more dedicated to the students. Families are also encouraged to get involved and be true partners with the school in their child(ren)’s well being and academics. Something the school does better than anything is making the students not only strong academically, but overall good people. They are constantly serving others and raising true civic minded individuals. What a special place that I feel so lucky to send my children to!

I can’t imagine anything more important than the happiness & education of our children & this little school delivers big. From the caring & expertise of the master teachers they employ to the quality of the challenging curriculum that engages students daily, it is no surprise that Florida's first independent school is top notch. Rigorous academics is balanced by both daily hour-long PE & recess. However, what truly sets them above is both their commitment to community & global issues as well as their character education program which instills respect, integrity, empathy & grit. From a young age they engage & encourage participation, problem solving, & helping community. Now 9th graders embark on an amazing year-long project to help save the coral reefs including field research at Cape Eleuthera. This school is different-not just a factory churning out smart kids; this school builds thoughtful leaders. Our children not only excel here, they thrive; they are confident & happy.
From the minute you walk through the doors on both campuses, you get this feeling that you are home. It's evident just how much the teachers care about their students, and the faculty:student ratio ensures each child is given undivided attention in their education. The new Lower Campus is beautiful, bright and right on the West Palm Beach intracoastal waterway. On the Upper Campus, they provide all academic classes in the morning/early afternoon so that - through the 'Alternate Sports Policy' - any students with extracurricular or athletic needs (riding, polo, golf, etc.) has the time to practice without disrupting their education.
