I came to Paideia in the fourth grade, and it has been a great experience ever since. The academics are very tough and I spend around 4 hours every night doing homework, and even more time on the weekends. I know this hard work is worth it because I know many graduates who have gone to amazing colleges, and I hope that I will too! I love the sense of community within the school and the yearly traditions are great. I really admire the headmaster for all the work that he has done to make the school what it is today.
Review Paideia School
Some teachers are really great, others not so much. The math department needs some work, but the school is reluctant to fire the bad teachers. I am a current junior and have taught myself all of the math that I know up until this point. The other departments are pretty strong in terms of teachers. The social studies department has a mix of really good, and really bad. Many teachers play favorites, which is irritating when it gets in the way of others' educations.
Paideia is known for its small community, motivated students, and great staff, and I definitely got a sense of these qualities in my time at Paideia. The small community allows for a more intimate learning experience where you really get the sense of a "Nobody gets left behind" attitude. The competitive atmosphere was daunting at first, but the determined mindset very beneficial in the long run, as I began to want to better myself along with the rest of my peers. I would certainly choose to attend Paideia again.
