I rate Page High School with five stars prominently because of their staff and academics. A school has to have good academics to be considered a good school, after all. They had available every course I could've wanted, except, of course, Japanese, but they connected me with NCVPS so I could take those classes online. They have friendly and effective administrators and intelligent, real people, working as teachers. Many of them tried their best to keep everybody on the same page so that nobody was left behind, even postponing deadlines for understandable reasons. I, personally, think our educators were great--I learned plenty from them--but I did hear other students complain about certain teachers. I would say, though, their complaints come from their own lack of motivation to get their work done; I never had any problems. I do have one annoyance, however: I wish the Page website was more up-to-date, and the same goes for a list of clubs/activities they had on one of their walls.
In my four years at Page High School, I experienced the good, the bad, and pretty much everything in between. I am thankful for the aspects of the school that brought me close to my peers and those with shared interests, specifically in the ever-present sense of community and school spirit. Behind the guise of such an interconnected class of students, there were certainly aspects that further divided my peers, such as cultural differences and educational barriers that kept classes essentially segregated at higher levels of AP and IB courses. I was one of very few minorities in my classes throughout my involvement in the IB program. However, I think there is a consistent potential at the school to find your niche, especially in its ability to cater to unique interests of students from different backgrounds. There are a variety of educational and extracurricular choices that being a student at Page allows, and I found those opportunities essential in informing by rating of Very Good.
Page High School is a great high school. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. There are a lot of activities in which students can participate in ranging from sports, marching band, clubs, and honor societies. The teachers are very friendly and take the time to get to know their students. Page also has different academic programs that challenge their students including, IB, AP, and honors. There is something for everyone at Page to get involved in, and if you find that there isn't, you can start your own club with a few friends and a faculty advisor.
