A weird school at that. Before I start I'd like to say the following. If you'd like to go through life doing the bare minimum maybe MMFS is for you! If you want to be successful and independent, I would not recommend this school. Here is my issue with MMFS. The school has a system. Kids who have learning disabilities are not given super effective strategies to deal with their specific learning disability, but instead, are given easier work. The curriculum at MMFS has three stages a student can be at. Each stage determines how hard the work will be to do on your own. The stages are SMI (Significantly Modified Instruction), MI (Modified Instruction) and I (Instruction). MI may feature something like a word bank or clues to the answers while SMI may give you the answers just to fill in to the paper! Isn't that sad? I mean, my parents didn't believe they were babying me until we had a parent teacher conference with the learning specialist who I had been "Working With" for my senior year.
Patricia E. Paetow High School is an awesome institution. The school is big, beautiful, and clean. The administration and teachers are very organized so there's no confusion on where to go or what to do. All teachers have the same set schedule and times, available every week, for their tutorials. Not many things in life are perfect. Therefore, no 5 stars. However, Paetow High School is a pretty good school, so a strong 4 stars it is!
I really am enjoying my Paetow high school experience. I moved here not that long ago and am getting fairly acquainted with my school as a sophomore. I finished the majority of freshman year online and when i started this year i wasn't disappointed per se, but i would definitely like to see some things improve. This includes the activities and clubs available. For instance, they have the main things like football and volleyball but i would feel we all could benefit from a larger variety of clubs. I cant speak for everyone but i have yet to see any activity that interests me. Finally, i would like Paetow to enforce the mask rule. We have peeked in the number of cases in Texas and there is a new variant thats spreading rapidly. It makes me uneasy and irritated to see half the students and teachers without masks. Yes vaccines are great and they do help, but the government is still recommending masks everywhere and id like to see my school take this pandemic seriously.
