Padua Academy Reviews

I am grateful for my time at Padua! My high school experience, going to an all girls Catholic school, really worked for me compared to a different kind of school setting. My teachers there were supportive and helpful and I was really challenged, especially in AP courses, to excel in academics. I believe Padua helped prepare me for college and I'm grateful that my transition to college was relatively easy. I know that a lot has changed since I've graduated, but overall I'm glad to have been at an enriching school that helped get me where I am today.
The best part about Padua was its faculty, who always showed their care for students. Padua offered both College Prep, Honors, and Advanced Placement classes, which prepared students for the college experience. I felt that I knew what was expected of me in college due to how I was taught at Padua. I also feel that offering study abroad opportunities in high school is something unique that I am glad Padua takes advantage of - they teach their girls how to be worldly students and experience other languages. cultures, and religions. Being an all-girls school, it is inevitable that sometimes a culture might develop in which there is cattiness, but the counselors at Padua are very well prepared to handle the emotions and difficulties of teenage girls and offer their support often.
Padua tries to be a welcoming place for everyone, when in reality, it's just not the case. Being a queer student, it's very easy to feel ostracized by the students and staff. The environment is difficult to navigate, being an "all female" catholic school, the energy is extremely conservative. It's really difficult to be something outside of the cultural norms, ie a queer student, a non religious student, a student with left leaning values and views. Struggling with mental health is not really something a student can afford to do. Padua demands a very high level of academic achievement, with almost no room for struggle.
