I think my school could do better in creating a more diverse campus. Just by looking around, not many people know of others cultures, and people are divided. Based on the events of the past, there had been change, but enough to implement it in our everyday lives. It seemed to brush over after a few months, and very few people are still applying the rules. Trying to see the bigger picture, students could be better educated on the real struggles of what our society faces. Now being taught while social distancing, I can see how much effort the teachers put into the education of the students, which proves that there has been change, but can also be further improved. I like that asynchronous time has been placed into our schedule because students can get one on one help from teachers other than tutorial. Overall, I think my school needs to focus more one diverse community, and our education quality has greatly improved.
The teachers and staff at this campus care about their students in and out of the classroom. They are very supportive of their career goals and make sure assistance is given when needed. The campus is very empty as a result of remodeling, so it could feel somber at times. There is still an inconvenient dirt track and uneven playing field, per request of the people living nearby. I highly recommend joining the NJROTC program on campus, as students get to participate in many state, regional, and national competitions.
Pacifica High School is such a 50/50 school. I say this because if you split the school in half, some students will say, " Best school ever best time of my life" but the other half will say, " Man it was the most frustrating 4 years of my life it wasn't even that cool" etc. This because Pacifica is such a moderate to mediocre school since the school is placed in an awkward part of town where whites and minorities split into two and come into clash in this school. Comparing to other schools in our district you would notice how dominant some schools are like Rancho is hispanic dominant La Quinta is asian dominant and the list goes on. However, with Pacifica it is quite different. Not only are we a white dominant school, it still is proportionate enough to have a mix of minorities in the school so it wouldn't be ridiculously one race. This has it pros and cons but cons take the cake because the student minority have been separated from friends and end up in a school as a nobody.
