My son just started and absolutely loves it already! Making new friends was easy in his small honors classes and close-knit school environment. He comes home excited about his teachers and work, all of whom are readily available through office hours or email. Most importantly, he is a competitive fencer and trains and travels all over the country. Pacifica is one of the only schools we found that supports him 100% academically, while pursuing this sport. The block schedule and study period really helps him manage his study time and training. We are so happy with our choice!

Not sure what happened but this school has gone from solid to disappointing. The teachers and staff are fantastic and the reason we chose the school, but lately they seem to be leaving in droves and losing motivation due to poor leadership from the top administrators. Conservative politics (rather than inclusivity and love) seem to be driving the leadership. Students were given "chapel" instead of being allowed to join student protests against gun violence. A student was able to dress as "Hillary in chains" for Halloween with no repercussions, but 18-year-old women were not permitted to wear pantsuits on election day even after respectfully asking in advance. The leadership comes across as authoritarian and dismissive of students who don't agree with their political views. Teachers seem over worked and bogged down with a ridiculous number of administrative obligations, leaving them little time to build relationships with students, which used to be the cornerstone of this school.
I have attended Pacifica since 9th grade. I feel I have been well prepared for college and look forward to graduating and testing my skills. I also welcome new experiences. My experiences at Pacifica have included sports, art, and the sciences. It was through the math and science departments that my interest in engineering was piqued. I also have taken several AP classes which I feel have given me an opportunity to start college with a headstart. I feel fortunate to have had this wonderful opportunity to attend this school. There have been plenty of opportunities to get involved with various activities. The teachers have been very welcoming and bend over backwards to give you extra support as you need.
