Pacific Crest has proven to be an excellent school for our son. The teachers are excellent, committed, interesting. The classes are a "narrow, deep slice" of the subject (like Folklore & Pop Culture, Climate Change, and Cells Genes and Evolution ) rather than the standard "English 2", making for a more interesting curriculum. While there is a well-rounded focus on science, social science, and writing, the importance of the arts is exemplified in their extensive offerings which include Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media, Ceramics, Photography, Acting for the Stage, Script Writing, Stage Design, African Drumming, and Improv. Languages include Spanish and Japanese; other opportunities include SAT Prep, Bike Repair, Coding, and Rock Climbing. Quite extensive for a school of 85 students! This school is a gem.

There is community orchestra that is open to students. There is also a journalism team that puts out a newspaper every few months. There is also a group that gets together and knits hats and scarves to give to the homeless people of the city. Previously, there was a grappling club that students could be physically active in. Anyone can create their own club that anyone can join.
It's a great school for students who have a solid personal identity and are looking for a little extra help or a little more flexibility. The teachers are passionate about what they teach, and because it's an independent school, they're able to decide what will be most beneficial to that specific group of students every term.
