My experience at Pacific Buddhist Academy has been excellent! Although enrollment has been low, we just built a new building, so we definitely have capacity for more students. I loved the school culture, which was so welcoming. That stemmed from our connection to Buddhism from sharing campuses (founded by) with the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii and our close-knit environment. Classes are small enough, so students really get to know one another, and we form personal relationships with our teachers as well! Almost all of us participate in sports, be it in our stand-alone team, with Pac-5, or joining another school. Our academic schedule is a bit hard to grasp, but it’s a cycle system where we only have two core classes at a time for two hours each, which change every 6 weeks. We can really delve into the subject matter this way. There’s so many opportunities to study abroad thanks to PBA and Hongwanji. Our various school events throughout the year brings us together.

Pacific Buddhist Academy is an amazing school which is very accommodating to everyone no matter your background. Class sizes are very small meaning you get the opportunity for one on one time with the teacher. The academics are challenging, but doable. There aren't any AP classes, but classes are on the more difficult side making up for the lack of AP classes. The teachers are very genuine and helpful people. You can tell they all want to be there and be teaching all the students.
Pacific Buddhist Academy was able to open their doors to me when a previous school I applied for shut its doors before I could start my studies. Over the four years I was there I was introduced to a whole new world of learning and culture in the process. It also brought me out of my comfort zone and really introduced me to getting my hands dirty in the name of learning. By the end of my Four Years, I've learned so much and kept what was taught to help me later in life. I will never forget my time at the school and the friends I've made in the process.
