Oyster-Adams Bilingual School Reviews

1 review
We have two daughters at Oyster (elementary) and are thrilled! I was hesitant at first, as none of them spoke Spanish before starting, but the school is just wonderful! The teachers are excellent and dedicated, the school is very well run by warm and committed Principal and Vice-Principal, and the parent community is supportive and engaged. Many kids have mixed ethnic backgrounds, quite a few are international students, and there is some socio-economic diversity as well (though most of the kids are from higher middle class due to the location).
The school has rigorous academic standards, teaches strong social awareness and a deep love for books - not least due a loved librarian. Our daughters are becoming big readers who can easily be distracted from the screen with a book due to this focus from the school. The academic level is high and the school masters the bilingual model. It requires effort from the kids who are not bilingual when entering, but it can be done!
