Overall a good high school. The music department is one of my favorite things about the school, all of the teachers in that department work very hard to make sure their students succeed! Next best thing is the teachers in the science department, felt like they did a good job of preparing me for college level learning.

Owatonna High School can’t be described in one word. Some teachers and admin are great, others not so much. I recommend for students to take enriched classes to increase the chance of getting a higher than mediocre teacher. The administration are considered racist, along with every white person unless they are friends with students of different ethnicity. The class sizes are around 36 but some are less tham 25. I am liking my experience so far, as I have lucked out with the
“Good” teachers. Others have a tough time with the administration but me personally, I have been just fine.
The building is old and outdated. All technology needs to be updated as well, it’s very slow and not effective. The building is not built for success as it is unstable and uneven in temperature, mold was found, dead animals were found in the wall and there is not the right amount of space and resources for the amount of students. But the staff is excellent and very kind. I’ve received a very good education by going to this high school and learning from these teachers and faculty.
