Overall I personally enjoyed my stay at Overlea High as i am on to become a graduating senior of 2020. Though the school has received a significant amount of changes as i rose up to becoming a senior teacher, programs, regulations and coaches all changed thought. I love the sports teams and the JROTC program it once had. Its a diverse school so you get to meet many new people and it has a few good teacher. What i wish could change is the opportunity and privileged to all students as far as field trips, better sports equipment, learning tools and tutoring is what my school struggles on providing most likely due the costs.

The teachers are incredibly dedicated to making sure students understand material. They're also concerned with the well-being of their students, which in turn boosts confidence in those students. However, the school's culture is subpar; fights happen frequently in which students are suspended; we should be working on prevention coupled with discipline. The students are disrespectful and often disobey teachers. It serves as a distraction to students who are trying to learn.
In the summer of my 9th grade year moved some I had to go to Overlea for the rest of my high school career and I was so nervous because there were always rumors about how bad Overlea was and I was sure I was going to hate it. But then as days pasted I realized I liked it a lot more then Perry Hall, I thought the people were better and the classes were too. I was as happy as a teenage boy can be in school. I"m not going to say I had a horrible life but I as been hard this had being like my 5th move in five years, and I'm an introverted person so that made it extremely hard for me to make friends, But Overlea and its AVID program really helped me crack out of my shell and enjoy my high school years. That why I believe Overlea deserves 4 stars because it gave me a place where I can be myself and meet other like minded people.
