Ouray High School is a small school that comes with its own difficulties and success. The trips that students are able to take are amazing and a great way to get to see the world. It is easy to talk to teachers and get one-on-one help. There is not much of a gap between the classes as one can see all the different grades conversing. I will say that there are difficulties and struggles. The communication within the school is very poor and often frustrating. As such a small school, it feels like this can be easily fixed but no improvements has been made. In all, it is a good school that can get one an average education. It requires students to have more credits to graduate than some other high schools but is not a difficulty to fulfill. It is an average education and students are often finding their own ways.
Ouray High School is a very nice place to go to school because of the teachers and the students. The teachers are very nice, as well as knowing how to work with kids and can help if it is needed.
The teachers are amazing. We would have a lot more money if not for all the school-funded activities, but those are worth it as everyone in the school takes more away from those than they would newer books. There is amazing flexibility in schedules, and I managed to take AP courses every year. They even have AP tests for the one student in the school in that class. I mean, seriously. This place is great.
