Academics: Just as rigorous as they claim, mobility possible. I definitely learned time management here!
Teaching: Very good and passionate teachers, sometimes I use their material to study for my uni modules! However, I know of Level 3 classes that were victims of bad unreasonable teachers.
Social Life: This is my biggest issue with the school. If you do not already have friends from a feeder Archdiocese school, it is very difficult to make a solid group of friends, yet not impossible. The school is 'undiverse' both in ethniticy/race AND thought. Exposure to boys through the school is little to none. Also, everyone is Cuban, everyone.
Values: an overall effect on me as a graduate is that I feel, as a Catholic young adult, I am definitely living by the 'motto' of Lourdes without even noticing it. OLLA 'empowered' me for life after high school, and for this, I am extremely grateful. In a turbulent world, I find it easy to stay true to who I am.

I did not enjoy my stay at Lourdes Academy. I will start off by explaining the pressure given to students at such a young age. It is expected of all students to have a 4.0 and if not, then they are considered inferior. Level 2-3 classes are frowned upon. Most of the classes you take junior to senior year depend on your grades freshman year. We are not able to choose classes we feel we will be able to handle, because of the prerequisites. Student athletes are idolized and the recieve great amounts of favoritism. There is no self expression in the school. There are so many rules and regulations, I feel individuality is seen as a negative concept. Not enough of our money is being spent towards the cafeteria. They run out of food by the time I get to lunch. I apologize for such a horrible review but this seems to be the only place I can actually vent.
I have loved my four years at Lourdes Academy! I truly believe the school has prepared me well for college while encouraging me to be a strong and independent, catholic woman.
