My overall experience with Oswego High School was very good! For starters, I made so many great connections and acquired a great education from a plethora of amazing teachers. Additionally, I was able to make so many great friends and other connections through the affordable and welcoming clubs and activities the school provided. Unfortunately, the school didn't come without its flaws. To put it plainly, the way the school was always ready to cut funding on arts and music, rather than sports to save money, made me a little upset. These are two very important cultures for students to learn from and experience, therefore I never understood why Oswego High School played favorites with sports. Furthermore, I felt like the college readiness was handled very poorly at this school, as everything felt rush and disorganized. Overall, I feel like Oswego High School had its fair share of ups and downs, but I am grateful for being able to have a successful education in that building.

I recently graduated from Oswego in 2019. I've grown up in Oswego my entire life, so it being all I knew it was a good school. However, since going to college I realized how isolating it was here and how ill prepared I was for college by 'AP' classes that were really just busy work and rarely was actual critical thinking used. There's a few gems of teachers here and clubs and sports I found my home in, but the bad teachers ruin it. Academics could be better, majority of people have an obsession with our mediocre at best football and basketball teams, but hey school spirit!
Oswego High School offers a multitude of classes, clubs, organizations, and opportunities. There's something for everyone. Most of the teachers are willing to help, explain lessons in details, and get to know students on a personal level. The school does their best to keep their students safe and provide them any assistance they need. I would like to see better use of the district's money and for costs to lower(most after-school activities have a starting fee of $65 and sports cost $300). In addition, the school has opportunities to prepare you for college, but it isn't enforced enough. Overall, Oswego High School is a good school with strong teachers, organizations, and academics. However, there is room for improvement, especially in the money, safety, and general knowledge of what is happening in the student's lives.
