My overall experience with Oswego High School was very good! For starters, I made so many great connections and acquired a great education from a plethora of amazing teachers. Additionally, I was able to make so many great friends and other connections through the affordable and welcoming clubs and activities the school provided. Unfortunately, the school didn't come without its flaws. To put it plainly, the way the school was always ready to cut funding on arts and music, rather than sports to save money, made me a little upset. These are two very important cultures for students to learn from and experience, therefore I never understood why Oswego High School played favorites with sports. Furthermore, I felt like the college readiness was handled very poorly at this school, as everything felt rush and disorganized. Overall, I feel like Oswego High School had its fair share of ups and downs, but I am grateful for being able to have a successful education in that building.
My experience with Oswego High School has been pretty mediocre. While I feel like they try to take care of important issues such as mental health and school safety, they would fall a bit short. For example, when there was a shooting threat at the school, rather than addressing the issue to the students directly, they let the rumor spread throughout the internet as students became anxious for the outcome. As for mental health, I feel like Oswego struggled with actually putting their plans for change for the school into action. The staff sometimes would be stubborn about classwork. However, the bionic program at ohs is incredible and I cannot speak more highly about it. Overall, Oswego is a good school and I hope that the issues I mentioned are fixed with time.
I really like attending this school! The staff are very supportive and I feel very welcomed and safe at this school. The school handles issues like bullying and other things like taht very well. I would highly recommend attending the school if you're thinking about it!
