I loved Orono High School! The faculty is incredible. I am proud to say that all of the teachers go above and beyond teaching and are driven to make you succeed. Academically, the classes are very diverse and very inviting. The food is healthy and really good! I highly recommend joining a sports team, club, or after school activity. There are lots to choose from and it's a great way to put yourself out there and make new friends!

Orono High School has many things to offer to any student. One can become involved in countless activities wide-ranging from the school newspaper to cross country. As well as sports and clubs we have an amazing arts program that involves the musical, show choir, and many other arts including visual arts. We have great academics which include many AP classes. Orono is a university town that gives students the opportunity to take college classes for free. There is an excellent sense of home at Orono because we are a small school so you can connect with your teachers easier. Orono brings everyone together, we aren't just a school but a community.
With around 400 students at Orono High School, just about everyone knows each other. Just by walking the halls you can feel the driven attitudes of the students around you, always pushing one another to achieve the highest they can. Many AP and honors courses are offered at Orono, making the academic structure very variable to how you apply yourself. The teachers and faculty at Orono are hit or miss, the more experienced and older teachers are wonderful. The newer teachers are definitely still grasping the teaching process and the material they are supposed to be covering. Much of the facility at Orono High is outdated and even dangerous, a recent school board meeting estimated over 28 million dollars in repairs and updates needed.
Overall Orono High School has an involved atmosphere, supported by fellow students and faculty. Its outdated appearence does not match its interior prosperity.
