WHY MIDDLE SCHOOL?
We know the middle school years mark a significant time in a girl’s life. It is when she develops – physically, emotionally and intellectually – at a pace rivaled only by her first few years of life. We believe in the distinctive value of the middle school experience. Choosing to make 5-8 grade our exclusive focus, allows us to support and celebrate this exciting age. Our faculty possess subject area expertise and are middle school specialists. Through their implementation of a program designed to harness the potential of girls’, our students come to know their voice, talents, and abilities at a vitally important age.
FEMALE FORWARD
Research shows that girls’ confidence drops as much as 30% during the adolescent years. Not at Orchard House School, a leader in middle school education for girls. In a school designed just for them, girls move forward through the challenges of adolescence and emerge as confident, capable leaders prepared for high school and beyond.

C.O.R.E and EXPLORE!

C.O.R.E. is the heart of Orchard House and is integrated into academic and social learning through active, hands-on learning and experiences in real-life scenarios. EXPLORE! Figuring out who she is and how she fits in is a middle school girl’s chief developmental task. At Orchard House, we promote positive identity formation and leadership skills through our Explore! program.

Our daughter attended Orchard House School and is now a senior in high school, preparing to transition to college next fall. OHS was the perfect place for her to learn, grow, and navigate the challenges of adolescence, while gaining a level of confidence that has propelled her throughout the past four years. She learned to think critically, write clearly and succinctly, and develop and articulate her opinions. We love OHS.

Orchard House is giving my daughter the middle school experience that I wish I had!
It was a big decision for us, and we are glad we did it.
Great teachers and the Head of School is fantastic and very involved.
Both of my daughters attended Orchard house School and have considered it one of the most positive experiences of their lifetime. My eldest graduated from college and is thankful she went to OHS because it was there that she developed a real sense of self-confidence during her formative years. The teachers and administration truly care about the student's academic progress and personal development. My youngest who is now in 8th grade is concerned that it will be difficult to find high school teachers that will match the OHS teachers' excellence. She wishes she could stay forever.
