Orangeburg Preparatory School Reviews
Rating 3.33 out of 5 30 reviews
It is a small school, so everyone knows everything about everyone. Also, there are not many advanced or AP courses offered, and some teachers are really really bad at teaching. As a place, I like it, because I have attended since 3-k and it has become more of a home than a school. But as an ambitious student who wants the absolute best education possible, I do not like OPS. Nor do I truly recommend it. The education is not bad, per say, but it is just not as great as other high schools in the area. We are good at most sports though!!
Orangeburg Prep is most definitely a very safe school. I would say that it is one of the safest schools in Orangeburg County. Orangeburg is not a very safe place to live, because the crime rate is so high. Two things I would like to see change at Orangeburg Prep is how athletes are treated by some coaches and there definitely needs to be more opportunities for students to get a head start on their careers.
I enjoyed the teachers I had at Orangeburg Preparatory School, but I would like to see change. I was not well prepared for college courses. Throughout my high school career, I did not have to study often to make good grades. I would suggest that high school teachers discuss study habits with students to discover which study methods work for them individually.
