My experience at Opportunity charter school was amazing. The average class size, eight to fifteen kids which was a good size for me to learn. Always had help when needed, my school had afterschool programs to help us. Not only academically also social afterschool programs. Which was good for kids who didn't want to go straight home afterschool. But at the same time keeping them safe and not in the streets. At school I felt very comfortable and safe.

The opportunity Charter school in Harlem, New York most certainly has opportunities for minorities. During my times there, I was able receive several opportunities including scholarships and programs that helped me settle into College very smoothly. However, things I would like to see change are the academic aspects of the school. There needs to be better teachers who can teach and show students that education is really important. Who can also inspire and make these kids comfortable enough to want to learn and think about their future.
Opportunity charter school has Chess,Book, Anime, Culinary arts, video games, arts and crafts, student government, photography and advisory clubs for us so can ease our minds and have fun as we learn. Also the after school activities, gives students a chance to do homework and get tutoring from teachers. The athletic sports that we do after school brings us as a family rather than friends. Throughout the school year, Children Aid Society will give us internships and jobs so we can get glimpse of experience of the real world and how to get ready for it.
