it's aight. Met so many amazing people that made my time here amazing. The teachers are also very close to the students here, we do go on a first name basis with them and can talk to them like I would any of my friends. Academics are nice too, no way would I have taken a class like broadcast journalism anywhere else but here.
My main beef? Diversity and extracurriculars. There is no denying that this school is WHITE. As a black student here it really can feel weird going through halls in passing time and only seeing a few students that truly look like you. Also say you want to do a extracurricular as simple as let's say... Tennis. You will have to go to humboldt for that, OWL only offers a select few extracurriculars for the school.
Really this school fits a certain type of people, if you like a small community in a big city as well as very close student-teacher relationships. You'll have a good time. But that's just my two cents man.

High-quality embedded and interdisciplinary education with a family-like environment. The teachers really get to know the students, and typically teach each student twice (middle school and high school). Very supportive environment for students to flourish.
I love the hands on learning we do here. We go on all types of trips and learn about the world around us. It’s a small student body so you develop a strong sense of community. As well as close relationships with your class and teachers. We are a very proactive school and take charge in what we feel is important in our community. However we lack diversity and learning of different cultures. I would like to see more of this.
