At first I was not sure if South would really be the best place for me as it is overcrowded over here which is something I tend avoid as I am an introvert. Surprisingly though I adjusted quite well and I really like it here. Although the school is made up mostly of Hispanics it is still very diverse and accepting too, I see all kinds of people there. The education here is good too just not as competitive. There are many great programs here as well for example the dual language program or the the visual and performing arts, etc. Overall pretty great despite certain rumors, just needs a bit more funding.

Omaha South High is the most diverse high school in the state of Nebraska. The opportunity to meet people of different background and come from different part of the world really help students at South to practice Social skill and have different ways to view things. The only problem is there is nearly 3,000 students currently attending South, it is the biggest school in the state. Studying in a crowded environment can be a problem for some students because it can be very distracting. I would love it even more if there are less students in the school.
While being at Omaha South, I would have to say I have had a pretty great high school experience. Omaha South is known for its Dual Language program and being in this program has really benefited me to continue to practice, speak, and learn in my first language, Spanish. With being in the Dual Language program since Kindergarten, I have been able to make and keep life long friendships that I have known since I was little, all the while finding my true self and who I really am within the classroom and school comminuty among my peers.
