High school grows you into the person you are. I have great memories at Omaha North High, good and bad, some learning experiences and some that I’ll take with me the rest of my life. My high school experience has influenced my development as a person inside and outside of the class by making me more independent, choosing friends wisely and teachers motivating me to attend college and accomplish goals I have set for myself. I've gain independence throughout high school. I am surrounded a group of people from diverse background. Omaha North high is like any other public high school whither it is dramas or specials moments. One of my favorite moment at Omaha North is being part of the NCPA(Nebraska College Preparatory Academy) program which have positively influence my high school experience. Some changes I would like to see at Omaha North is the technologies offered at North, we are in modern society and students should have access to update technology with demanding work.
I would rate it a 3 because its just a alright school, most teachers you meet there are very nice and are such amazing teachers, then you just have the plain rude teachers. The food is not the best and I feel we have the same lunch almost every week and nothing changes. At our school our lunch system is A lunch (first), B lunch(second), and C Lunch (last) and when you have C lunch there is literally almost nothing left, no juice, or colored milk, usually just white milk left, even one time they ran out of food in one of the lunch rooms. The people there are nice and mean, it just really depends on what crowd your in. The principal was great and kept almost everyone in shape and very few people disliked him, but he just retired and we have a new principle for the 20/21 school year! Overall North is a pretty basic school.
As a Junior at Omaha North Magnet High School, I have to say that the overall experience from the environment, consoling, and after school programs make this school a great one. It offers scholarships available to all students and has several student leadership clubs. One problem I do have with the school however is how mediocre the food is. The food is either lukewarm or sometimes way too hot for cooked food. The smoking and vaping in overcrowded bathrooms is a big problem as well.
