Olympia High School is a very inclusive and safe school. They let their students know that they are heard and actually listen to our concerns.
Overall I have enjoyed my past 3 years at Olympia High School. I have had great teachers each year that have taught me much more beyond the subject. I feel as if I belong at my school and am treated fairly. I just wish that our events catered to minorities more as well.
The community at olympia is the best part about the school, the clubs and sports and the connections you make there
In my time at Olympia, I met lots of great students and teachers. The teaching itself was amazing, and I felt comfortable with every curriculum I approached. Wish Covid-19 never happened, but I still enjoyed my 4 years there.
Olympia high school has made me feel welcomed and lets me build amazing memories that I’ll be able to cherish forever.
The best time I had in Olympia I was I passed my sophomore year and I was happy because the lady up to my freshman year in high school when I didn’t do so good because I think it was like middle school
The Apex program is a plus for students looking for an academic challenge. It requires AP classes and the teachers in the program are excellent. For students that can handle extra work, dual enrollment at Valencia College or University of Florida should be encouraged. It makes financial sense to get ahead it taking core college courses. Career Days should also be offered.
Olympia overall has been an outstanding high school experience, from the students and teachers, to the different events and celebrations. Having the first year of your high school experience be completely altered with an pandemic was not something any of us had in mind, but Olympia pushed through and Freshman year will be something to remember - for better or worse. In my experience, the teachers at Olympia are hit or miss - you could go from a very passionate, inspiring, life-changing teacher in one period, to a teacher who the students all believe should never have been a teacher. The same goes for all the different school events; the sports games were another world of enjoyment, and so were some of the different art performances, but there were a few events that could have had more effort put into them. Overall, the school is an amazing experience that tops many others that I’ve heard of, but it could definitely see some improvement.
The best part of the experience is that you connect with a lot of amazing people the worst part is leaving the school
There are excellent and passionate teachers who care about their jobs, however administration frequently invests unnecessary time in pep rallies and useless testing that has no place being mandated for the entire school, which reduces instructional time.
A principal left with a lot of great teachers which was a huge disappoint but a new principal is good. She values music and art, sports and very involved. Apex program is excellent.
I didn't talk to many people at Olympia only because I was a little shy, but the school is filled with very good teachers that are willing to help one understand an assignment.
I am a senior at Olympia high school. I've attended the school for all four years of high school. Every school isn't perfect, but it is a good school.
The Apex program at Olympia High school really put me where I needed to be for college. It gave me all of my prerequisites which enabled me to start my major as a freshman in my first semester. Now I am a double major and triple minor at the University of Florida!
I spent all four years of high school at Olympia and I enjoyed it a lot. The biggest reason is the number of opportunities that are given at the school. There are several AP classes, a few dual enrollment options, trade classes such as culinary and agriculture, many sports, even more clubs, and fantastic programs. The education there is also pretty good, and compared to other schools there is a lot on campus that's conducive to a successful learning environment. It is in a good area and there is a good amount of safeguards to make people feel secure. The campus itself looks good and it is fairly easy to navigate. Most of the teachers and staff there are nice and do their jobs. They make it feel like they want you to succeed, and they have a lot of support for students there. There are a lot of events done with clubs, sports, and the arts that help to give every student a chance to find their place in the school. The students do feel important here which is necessary for a good school.
The best school in the area. I spent the best 4 years of my life, with great teachers, great friends, and the best memories from this school. I do recommend this school to everyone. They will have a great last year of school at Olympia High School.
Olympia offers a lot of academic diversity in electives and opportunities to explore career paths. The pandemic was hard on the school, but it's coming back with new teachers and enthusiasm.
