While many of the teachers are experienced teachers, many do not set high standards for their students. My daughter never read a book while there, they only listened to them. When given tests, there was no accountability to know the material because they would give the students multiple tries. My son passed Algebra I with flying colors here but didn’t test out of Algebra I when he switched to a Private High School. He was completely unprepared for the rigor of a Private High School outside of the Olentangy District. When any concerns were brought to the attention of the administrators, they were met with defensive replies, if any reply at all. Maybe that has changed with the new Principal. I do NOT recommend this school if you are looking for a high educational standard.
Strict academics yet poor extracurricular opportunities. Guidance councilors encourage students to take easier classes, which seems counterintuitive to the district's ideology.
Teachers are great. We have almost half of the school in the olentangy gifted programs. The gifted department here is very slouchy, even if you ask there is not much help, or students are discouraged on matters of subject selection for high school credits. Great admin. Our office staff are very friendly .gym facilities are good. Athletic department is good , but I have to mention middle school girls tennis is terrible, the coach won’t show up most days after he collects the money. Only for paid classes and selling the logo wear he comes. Other days it is totally unstructured and some parent volunteers are running it, they select teams every day and you will end up waiting for your turn since we have limited courts available. Parent volunteers prefer their kids to play naturally.
