I love Liberty, it truly is a wonderful place to experience the "coming of age" time of our lives. Not only are academics excellent, but the athletics and extra curriculars are just as full of opportunities to thrive. One thing that really separates Liberty from other schools is our ability to come together as a whole, despite our differences. In the past two years, we have had two students that were diagnosed with Leukiemia and had to take off at least a year of school to recieve treatment. In these times of struggle, our school has done much to show our support. Selling T-shirts to raise funds for the Nationwide Children's Hospital, hosting both football, field hockey, and other sporting events in honor of each student who was diagnosed to raise money and awareness, starting clubs to make blankets for other patients at the hospital, hosting a father-daughter dance for the Powell community in order to spread awareness and raise money, and simply sending positive messages over social media and in person. Even as our school is a very competitive environment academically, socially, and athletically, these hard times have made us stronger and we have shown that we can come together as one.
