I very much enjoy the diversity of students and personally the theatre program. Many people from surronding schools misjudge Old Mill, and see it as a worse off school than it is. This year I came into freshmen year at OM from Chesapeake Middle, and the first day alone showed me many differences. There is so much connection between people of several intrests, and a sort of respect or acnowledgement between student who are either intrested in different activities or people they're not particularly fond of. At Old Mill everyone has a chance to do something and be who they want to be. The staff around the school is mostly helpful and kind. Counsolers always make te for their students, and teachers help students to their best capabity. I've only had one year at Old Mill so far, but this id deffinatly a year I won't forget. This year experience is deffinatly a "don't choose a bool by its cover" kind of one.

Honestly I loved the art teachers, however I hated that every year we'd receive a new principle. Fights break out all the time and no one can stop them, teachers have very little control over the kids and honestly are being paid too little to have to deal with them. Students walk out of class and roam the halls all period and it feels as though there is hardly any punishment. It's unfair that kids can't even get a note from their parent excusing their absence anymore. If it wasn't for my friends and some of the teachers I would hate it there.
Old Mill High school provides a safe and interactive learning environment for its students. The activities in classes allow students to be more engaged in their learning while having fun. Old Mill High school takes every opportunity to further prepare students for college. I would like to see the resources available in the school to be improved as well as the teaching styles. Some teachers teach in a manner that can be seen as confusing towards a child and, often times, not interactive which can cause a wide amount of inattentiveness and frustration in classes.
