My experience at Olathe South could have been more fulfilling had I joined an activity like band. Had I gotten more involved, I would have enjoyed it more. I highly recommend incoming freshman at any Olathe high school to get involved. For example, go to football games and dances. One more thing I would like to address is that many of my classmates do not feel that they have been properly prepared for college and adult life. My Personal Finance class greatly prepared me for managing my finances, but I do feel like we should have a required class dedicated to preparing young adults for their life after high school. I have had many amazing teachers who have positively impacted my life. These teachers and their kindness greatly outweigh the bad times. Overall, my experience at Olathe South was positive and I enjoyed spending the last four years of my life in its halls!

Olathe South High School has been great because they were willing to work with my schedule since I am a part-time student and part-time gymnast. I attended school 5 hours a day and then drove an hour to Kearney, MO to practice 4 hours in the afternoon/evening time. OSHS allowed me to graduate with the minimum number of hours and offered an online program so I could complete courses in the evening and on weekends. The counselors worked with my schedule and made sure I was meeting all of the NCAA requirements to pursue college gymnastics. The teachers allowed me to come in early many morning to make up tests when I had to miss school because of gymnastics meets. Finally, OSHS will recognize my scholarship on the April signing day. Many other schools in the area do not recognize other gymnasts because they did not compete the sport at their High School. I appreciate everything OSHS has done for me!
Olathe South High School has had a huge impact on my life! From the very beginning Olathe South has changed my personality for the better. Before high school I was a very shy individual and Olathe South has made me come out of my shell. I am very lucky to have been able to go to South and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else. I believe I have changed so much at South due to the wonderful staff and students. I can’t thank my teachers enough for all that they have done for me. Not only are they amazing teachers, some of them are great coaches as well. Because I am an athlete, I get the privilege to learn from my teachers and coaches at Olathe South. Again, I am very thankful for my teachers and fellow classmates that make South such a wonderful school!
