I really liked how ONW has the technology available for students to develop their skills, from art to engineering. Many teachers actually want to teach you, and you can develop good relationships with them. There are many clubs to choose from, and a variety of classes to expand your interests. The Arts are especially great, from everything music to the showcasing of drawings, paintings, and photography. The main trouble here is with students, with bullying (see our homecoming news a few years back), and the teachers that allow or encourage hate. You will be able to make good friends here, though, and find the support you need to grow as a human!
Olathe Northwest High School offers two unique 21st Century Programs that focus on career-centered skills. Those include engineering, media, and entertainment classes, which specialize in advancing students’ individual progress in the 21st Century skill area they choose. Along with the programs, the staff here are all dedicated to their profession, and at no point have I felt unsafe or intimidated by anyone in the school. The extra-curricular activities offered are exceptional, and the environment created within each group is nothing but accepting, helpful, and encouraging. ONW is a fantastic school to attend, one that above all else promotes a safe environment to learn and make friends in.
I have absolutely loved my experience at Olathe Northwest High School. At this school, I genuinely feel safe and loved. There are so many amazing teachers that I have been able to trust and confide in. I have never had a teacher that I don’t trust. The administration is also amazing. They make sure every single student feels loved and welcomed. Everyone has a place at Olathe Northwest, no matter who you are. Sports and clubs are also awesome. Getting involved at Olathe Northwest is easy and makes the whole high school experience amazing. I overall love Olathe Northwest, and I couldn’t have imagined going to another high school.
