I left Odyssey after fifth grade, in 2016. There were definitely many issues with Odyssey at the time I went there. Teachers were always pretty friendly, but there were some pretty big problems with the way neurodivergent children were treated by one of the teachers. Stimming would be called out and made fun of in front of the rest of the class. As someone who was struggling with severe anxiety and was neurodivergent myself, many of my ND traits would get me made fun of by other kids. I saw this with other ND children in my time there -- if you had autism, there was a good chance someone would make you feel bad and unincluded for it.
When I came to Odyssey in third grade, I was one of only four girls in a class of almost 30. This lack of gender diversity was just ridiculous. There were very few children of color in my class as well. Bullying based on these things was common.
I know things have changed now, but Odyssey had some serious problems when I went there.
