Sandra Day O'Connor High School served me well during the four years I attended. The education was rigorous and difficult at times, especially in the advanced classes, but with the help of friends, teachers, and mentors, I was able to better my knowledge and understanding of topics and maintain decent grades. The population at this school was decent. There was always room or improvement for more diversity, but given how the school was on the outskirts of San Antonio in relation to San Antonio's state of extreme socioeconomic segregation, it was an inevitable case that O'Connor's student population was predominantly white. That being said, O'Connor was still a "salad bowl" of different cultures, races, and economic statuses. It was a place where students were able to celebrate their uniqueness and wouldn't have to be ashamed of their culture, which definitely helped create a comfortable work space and environment for all students.

Being a student at O'Connor High School had its challenges, just like every other high school out there, but what made O'Connor particularly influential was the diversity. Diversity not only in ethnicity, but in personalities in teachers, in clubs and extracurriculars offered, and in the curriculum. It is easy to find a place to fit in, and it is easy to find things to learn. Education was highly valued at this school because of the incredible staff. I learned more than I could have imagined!
In my time I faced an amazing amount of students, teachers, and administration. O'Connor high school without a doubt is an outstanding school with great teachers only setting up these students for success. Along with the academics the athletics, agriculture and extra curricular activities were always superior to other schools in not only area, but city. Without these activities I was involved in I wouldn't be the person I am today. O'Connor high school displays a caring staff dedicated to each Childs future with the help of them each and every student definitely will have the opportunity to not just survive in High School but thrive.
