Starting off with drug/health regulations, Oceanside is #1 for use of drug/vapes on grounds in nassau county. As a student of the school, stepping on empty pods on my track aswell as the smell in the bathroom becomes quite revolting. The school doesn’t put in effort to show the importance of health. Along with Spider Beetle incidents and constant rats around the school, there still tends to be no exterminator. Oceanside school district even with all its funding through differnt programs used the money towards the wrong causes. While there’s disgusting bathrooms and no air conditioning in 80% of the school they decide to put money and effort into places like the locker room and new gym equipment. The activities and clubs available become a disadvantage as Students here bully through cliques and discourage those of the LGBTQ community and many others. When I was younger I dreamed of it here and in reality I’m investing in private school. These are only a few issues out of many.

Oceanside High School offers hundreds of courses, including many AP courses. There are plenty of resources for students who may be struggling academically or personally. OHS offers an array of clubs, such as the Thespians, DECA, WIC, the Sider Press, Video Production club, and many more. I'd recommend joining Oceanside Model Congress.

Each teacher at OHS is unique; they can be great, terrible, or weird (either in a good and bad way).

There is an LGBTQ community in the school, and bullying is not really a problem. Most people in OHS belong to a clique. Students of OHS, particularly seniors, follow several traditions like attending football games.

The school district keeps its students safe by mandating that all students and personnel wear IDs whenever on school grounds. OHS has the highest rate of vaping of all the high schools in Nassau County.

There is a degree of nepotism, as the School Board, the PTA, and the Teacher’s Union compete for influence within the district.
Based on the teachers I’ve had the education here is very good. The students have their cliques so when coming into the the HS in the middle of the year it’s hard to make friends, especially if ur part of the minority. Idk why this school got a B in diversity it’s literally all white here with very little pockets of Hispanics and then a smaller circle of black students. I was told that the OHS moms have their own little clique too? Not too sure about that but they were said to have a Facebook page where they bash peoples children and sometimes talk about the parents; talk about moms of the year lol. The school lunch is okay, we have a boars head station which is really popular with the students but most upper class students go out for Lunch since we have an off- campus policy. There are teachers and guidance counselors who really care here. The bathrooms should be cleaned more often as there is usually stalls without toilet paper which leads to long lines in the bathroom.
