Throughout my years at oceanside high school, I would like to say that it is a great school that offers many resources. I have been offered many opportunities in addition to receiving help whenever it was needed. Although, there are things I would change about oceanside high school. I believe that there should be more student and teacher connections at the school such as communication. Over the course of four years, I have only had one teacher who I see as a friend. The other teachers seemed to not care about if you succeed or not. The bathrooms and food are also atrocious. Other than that the music and drama departments are great. As well as the Science and Tech department. The array of extracurriculars and sports that are offered are amazing due to the quality and how selective they are. Overall a great school if you're looking for great academic opportunities, an array of sports, and an amazing performing arts program.
Oceanside Highschool is a school that I believe should prepare more events and opportunities students the at school, for example, more assemblies that could connect to the students, and develop more of that school spirit. Also having back TA's and community service at the school to help resumes and community service hours for the students, especially for Seniors. In addition of my experience at the Highshool, they need to be more involoved in adding clubs. I have had struggles of trying to find clubs that can relate to me and my interests.
Oceanside High has a good campus; it is big, somewhat clean, some staff is great, and I’ve never felt unsafe at this school. The school has good programs for different career paths which is helpful. Some of the staff however can be mean and rude. However, most of the staff I’ve encountered were wonderful and amazing people! The school counselors suck! It is a good school but it does have its downsides.
