My experience at Ocean View was very surprising, but surprising in a good way. I originally did not want to attend Ocean View, but I am glad I did. Ocean View is a small school that offers an unlimited amount of resources to achieve your goals. The staff at Ocean View is always there to help you with anything whether it be about school or your personal problems. The widespread diversity is what gives Ocean View the family atmosphere. Ocean View is somewhere where students can call their second home. The only thing I would change is trying to get others from seeing OV as such a bad school, when in reality, it is the total opposite. The staff and teachers at Ocean View make school fun again which is why Ocean View has such a high percentage of their students attendance. You will not regret going to Ocean View. You can't spell love without OV!!

Ocean View provides a very community based, family environment, especially considering the sports teams. Although the lack of funding discourages facility use, the team environment makes up for it. Academic benefits include the IB program, and counselors do well with preparing seniors for college applications, career planning, and preparation for the future. The teachers all seem to care more about the students than themselves which builds upon that close environment. Overall, great school with a few minor areas with room for improvement.
Ocean View High School focused not only on the academic nature of education, but also on mental health concerns. They pushed for a family environment, and it was heartwarming to see how much the staff cared about the students’ well-being. The school, however, was mixed between the IB program and Advances placement, so course enrollment was constantly changing along with the curriculum. It was difficult to know which classes students needed to take due to the confusion between the benefits of IB, AP, and Honors.
