Ocean View High School is an amazing place. I transferred there my sophomore year and have never felt more supported and understood. All of the faculty truly care about the students and always make sure that we are learning both in the classroom and the vital life lessons you learn outside of the classroom. As my senior year draws to a close, I can definitely say that I will always look back on my time here with great fondness. You can't spell love without "OV"!
I have enjoyed my time here at Ocean View, I was supposed to go to Fountain Valley HSfreshman year but my parents convinced me to try it out here for at least a year. And now I can't imagine myself anywhere else. I have found so many great groups of people and sports teams. Especially on my cross country team, there is just a closeness you feel once you are a part of it, whether or not you are a beginner or a returner, the atmosphere on the team is great. You really feel like there is a family bond between coaches and athletes, and athlete to athlete. This is where I found all my close friends even the ones that already graduated. This is the team I will always recommend joining. Also, classes are way smaller and I feel like the teachers actually care about your success and you feel welcome and wanted.
Ocean View HS offered an amazing experience for me, coming from a private school I had been in my whole life I was unsure of how it would go. Not only did it offer top tier academics, it includes teachers that truly care for each student. Along with this their college/career staff are sensational at prepping each student for what is to come with college, which can be incredibly overwhelming. I loved the atmosphere and diversity among the campus and they truly push for the students to create a community. It's easy to get involved with the various clubs and sports that are offered. I felt that this place became a home away from home and I got to see myself grow over the years. Now that I'm in college I truly can see the evidence of the provided education leading to a positive impact on my current college schooling. Each of my science courses influenced my passion for healthcare and has inspired me to get involved in offering care and compassion for people.
