Overall my school experience at Ocean Township was one of a kind! I would say that all the teaches that I have had were amazing and always led me to the right direction. I knew that with my teachers, I had support and motivation for my academic success. I will say that the environment with students was overwhelmingly populated by clique groups and was too toxic for me. That was my biggest problem attending Ocean was the overwhelming amount of bullying and cliques.
I had a pretty average High School experience if you take out COVID 19 that was the only thing that really hindered it. However I was never the kid who was varsity captain or went to all the parties. I was the nerd that did a little bit of everything. Pretty average if you ask me, however or my senior year I am working on trying to get my school to allow the senior class to allow us to paint our parking spots as a fundraiser. On the other hand, half of the bathrooms are locked and there are signs on each stall ONE PERSON PER STALL. I've seen quite a few things occur in my school's bathrooms, including a makeshift barber shop, a trap house, and a piercing studio. I try my best not to go into the bathrooms. Furthermore, the amount of fights I hear about are growing through the years so maybe instead of giving kids ISS, give them a real punishment because they are not learning and the school will become a toxic and unsafe place if not.
Average high school experience, enjoyed the block period setup. Very heavy on college readiness, not so much for careers besides this. Direct pipeline to Rutgers and Brookdale CC. Counseling staff is very helpful if you're planning on going to college, timely and good advice to offer. Not sure how they're handling COVID, hopefully much better than when it first started. Decent amount of clubs offered and teachers are overall mostly helpful. Lots of opportunity to excel as long as you take advantage of it.
