Ocean Township Elementary School Reviews
Rating 3.3 out of 5 10 reviews
There is ZERO diversity among the teachers at this school. They all look the same. They are all Caucasian women. It was very uncomfortable at the open house to see the clear division between the teachers side and the parents side. It honestly looks like a sorority. There are also only 3 men at the school whom are also Caucasian. This school should not get an A- in diversity. The students are very diverse however it is uncomfortable to see NO representation of culture with the teachers and staff. The township of Ocean is super diverse which would be good for the children to see their teachers are also racially & culturally diverse. It's clear whomever is in Human Resources is choosing who they want to work at this school VERY carefully.
They don’t tell you about the bullying and how the teachers and staff turn the other cheek cause the students parents have money. How about the constant drug raids they do there.? Once again money speaks more than education. There is no discipline in that school. You get caught with drugs it is a three day in school suspension. Oh talk to the principal she’ll tell you they’ve had a drug ring past three years but no one wants to tell who it is in fear of retaliation. And on bullying all they want is names. Then what, oh yeah they’ll pull the kids aside tell them you told slap them on the wrist and now your child’s bullying situation just escalated. Good school my ass!!! Teachers themselves don’t see their kids there. That should say it all. Oh and they live in the district!
Parents have the capabilities to view grades and assignments online. Guidance counselors are always accessible when it regards questions about their future.
Next step is for her to graduate in a couple of months and then attend college. This school has helped her instill confidence in herself when it comes to her education. Methods she can use in college were all learned by the school she's attending now.
Teachers are genuinely proactive when it comes to the students and the parents for that matter. They don't wait until a student is failing before they are in contact with both the student and the parent. Which I think it awesome!
As far as I know everything is laid out for both students and parents.
It's a wonderful extracurricular should. My daughter was a cheerleader for both football and basketball.
Haven't heard of any instances that have occured since she's been attendiing.
Next step is for her to graduate in a few months. She choose the college she wanted to attend, because it wasn't to big or to small. They carried what she wanted to major in and I believe she would get the best out of being in a smaller setting.
