OSMS provide good environment for student learning. The school has good classes, teachers and activities. Main entrance makes the school feel safe for the teachers and students.
Overall, the teachers are engaging and knowledgeable. There are a few instructors who are of lesser quality, but they are generally few and far between. Standardized grading methods are enforced, and struggling students usually have the ability to work one-on-one with their instructors. The only real downside to the instruction at this institution is the lack of sophisticated technology. Computers and other useful tools are either absent or out of date. The teachers make do with what they have, but the administration could do a much better job of procuring needed technological utilities.
My experience at this school was rather neutral. Though the quality of instruction is generally good, the social environment can be rather tense. For one, most of the students in each grade have been going to school together since they were really young. In a small town like Ocean Springs, everyone tends to know each other. A new kid like me wasn't readily accepted by most other students there. Physical bullying is kept to a minimum, but harassment and even cyber-bullying is present here.
