The Ocean Springs School District has provided me with an extraordinary education. I have been attending school at Ocean Springs High School for the last four years, and the level of vigorous learning overcomes any other high school in Mississippi. I have maintained a 3.9 GPA while being involved with three different extracurricular activities. Even though this school excels in academic levels of all kinds, I feel the administration schedules too many non-educational days. There are the days of which I miss out on furthering my education: holiday breaks, teacher work-days, pep rallies, field days, half days, and local holidays, such as Mardi Gras which is only celebrated along the Mississippi and Louisiana gulf coast. While this may not be a popular choice amongst any other students, I believe education shall not be taken for granted.

What I liked about Ocean Springs High School was that I had the availability to be whoever/whatever I wanted. They provided me with many opportunities to participate in the school. The only thing that I would change would be the attitudes of some of my peers, which doesn’t really have anything to do with the high school itself. Go greyhounds!
I wouldn't say Ocean Springs High School was the best but it also wasn't the worst. This school NEEDS more DIVERSITY!!! The school is mostly filled with white people, this is a problem that needs to be addressed because being the only POC in the classroom can be awkward and uncomfortable. And also the lack of caring for other sports. For example, so much money goes towards the football team but none of it goes towards the marching band, cheer, basketball etc. The football team isn't good and needs better coaches. But hey!! "Once a greyhound always a greyhound." Right??
