Going to Ocean Lakes is a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Most teachers here are supportive and genuinely care about their students. I suggest building close relationships with your teachers and getting to know them as people. However, there are teachers who teach in their preferred method, regardless of the opinion of their students.

Like other schools, you need a pass to go anywhere or do anything. Guidance counselors are responsible for large groups of people, so getting to know them is a little harder. The academics are wonderful in the math and science area, but there are not many classes for students interested in Computer Science. The "extra" academy classes mostly focus on biology and chemistry. Overall, it's a great school!

Through my whole 4 years here at Ocean Lakes teachers and students have always welcomed one another. Always ready to learn as well as teachers always ready to teach. The environment of Ocean Lakes just fills you with joy and happiness knowing that you belong there and are accepted for who you are. I can always walk in through the doors knowing that i will learn something knew that day and enjoy doing so. The teachers are by far the best always pushing the students to learn and making learning fun and interesting in every way. Clubs and activities never being left out of the picture there are a variety from which students can joing and become active members. Even meeting other students and making great friends. Ocean Lakes is jist one dolphin family!
I was in the Math and Science Academy at Ocean Lakes. It was an environment that fostered college readiness and built skills that gave me a 2-year headstart in my current university. It had a research or mentorship project during senior year that adds experience on academic resumes, catapulting students to a level far above most others in the university playing field. Ocean Lakes is a competitive but friendly environment, with student activities and pep rallies lifting student spirit every Friday. Students are polite and motivated, and rarely does one find themselves discouraged or alone. Counselors and teachers are incredibly close to each and every student, to a point where I was surprised their capacity to remember every person they talked to. My brother now goes to this school and I am very proud to be in the Dolphin Family.
