Oakwood Friends School Reviews
How to even describe OAkwood? Oakwood is a place where you can let yourself be free to do what you believe in, or anything that you are passionate about. I’ve come to realize that the two years that I’ve been here I have gotten so many opportunities to try new things and get to know more people, that are passionate about things that I like. Oakwood is not just a school to a lot of us. It is a place were we feel safe and we can call a home. Oakwood is were you meet friends that will last you a lifetime and you feel like they are family to you. As well as the faculty and staff. They do so much for us to make sure that we feel comfortable and we are able to express what we feel. They challenge us to think beyond what we believe we can do. Oakwood is a great place to be at because it prepares you for the future and when we go out into the real world! Oakwood has impacted me in so many great ways and I hope you can see that as well.
Oakwood provides an environment that is unlike any other school. There is not a moment where I can say that I did not feel welcomed or apart of the community. In addition to a family like environment, Oakwood also prides itself in the availability of resources. Teachers are always within reach, and are always ready to help. It could be in the middle of the day, during lunch and you have a test the very next period, you could easily just wait in the teacher's classroom and when they arrive they'd help you with the material and even reteach to you if necessary. The faculty at Oakwood want to see you succeed not just school wise but also in life. Just like they are always available academic wise, they are always there if you just need to talk. Boarding school was once an unattainable dream. And now that I’m in Oakwood, I couldn’t be happier anywhere else. Oakwood has helped me grow as a person and has really become my home away from home.
Oakwood is a small community that's like my family that supports one another. We are also liberal and accept people for who they choose to be which I think is an important aspect of our community. I value the community that we have it Oakwood, it’s like one big family and we can all be there for one another. The community is what makes Oakwood different from other schools. At Oakwood everyone supports one another in their good times and their bad times, even if you do not know someone you know that they are available for you. Faculty are also a big part of this community, because of the faculty at school they help create a safe comfortable family environment. I do not know other schools who value community as much as Oakwood does. One thing that everyone should know about Oakwood Friends School is that no matter who you are and who you choose to be we will be here to support you and guide you to the best of our ability.
