Oakwood is an amazing community that accepts the individual for his/her strengths and unique qualities. The campus has beautiful outdoor accommodations, Staff members are knowledgeable, helpful, kind and warm, and get to know each student personally. We'd love to see communications come home more consistently, but this has improved dramatically over the past several years. Students are engaged and involved -- both in classes and within the school community, as well as off campus in our local area. Oakwood has been the ideal move for our child, and he's become more social while maintaining former friendships, but more importantly he is more aware of himself and who he is and how he fits into the world around him on so many levels.

How to even describe OAkwood? Oakwood is a place where you can let yourself be free to do what you believe in, or anything that you are passionate about. I’ve come to realize that the two years that I’ve been here I have gotten so many opportunities to try new things and get to know more people, that are passionate about things that I like. Oakwood is not just a school to a lot of us. It is a place were we feel safe and we can call a home. Oakwood is were you meet friends that will last you a lifetime and you feel like they are family to you. As well as the faculty and staff. They do so much for us to make sure that we feel comfortable and we are able to express what we feel. They challenge us to think beyond what we believe we can do. Oakwood is a great place to be at because it prepares you for the future and when we go out into the real world! Oakwood has impacted me in so many great ways and I hope you can see that as well.
Oakwood Friends is something unexpected, you make some good friends over the years who’s connection lasts a lot of the time, as for academics, they are subpar. The teachers can be very unprofessional at times, and the bring their personal issues into the work place, which they shouldn’t. Teachers don’t teach us in ways that we understand and then blame us for not understanding the material given. The head of school does not care about his students and is more worried about the teachers than the students.
