Oakwood Academy is not a school for you if you do not want to deal with unnecessary politics. When I came to Oakwood Academy, I was new to a lot of things, the culture, school system, and the attitude of the people around me. Most of the people there were only available to help those struggling who's parents had a certain status, I only stated receiving help after I represented the school and the start and the help stopped the next semester and eventually I dropped out and did my GED, and even after all those things I still have things that I have not received from the school after I finished the requirements.

Dealing with oakwood academy I have noticed the wonderful way that they prepare their students for the next level in life, in many cases that being moving onto a university for a higher level of learning. One way that they set themselves apart from other academies in this area of preparation is by allowing their students to take classes at the sister university, Oakwood university. By encouraging the students to do this and acknowledging this need it not only allows their students to hone their skills to prepare for college and earn college credits, but also adjust in terms of the social aspects of college life. Coming into college often their is a noticeable gap between in the maturity level for freshman and even sophomores. However, when students are exposed to students who frankly won't put up with that type of foolishness in the classroom it allows the students to mature at a faster rate and realize more quickly what is and isn't acceptable.
Oakwood Adventist Academy is a great school for Christian children to attend. They uphold the ways of Christ and strive to give your child the best education experience possible. I would like to see the facilities expand though so that the experience is even better. Students hardly have any space to do anything and highschoolers mingle with the elementary school children because of the lack of facilities.
