I've been at Oakleaf High School for a year now. It has been a great experience for me! There are amazing teachers. I've always had an issue with math, and my Algebra 2 teacher from freshman year gave students many tools to be successful, including review sheets and tutoring. There are many different clubs to choose from, including art, theatre, basketball, chorus, physics, gym, keyboarding, psychology, and more. Oakleaf High School also has many different clubs to choose from. There's drama club, guitar club, recycling club, culinary club, debate team, national honor society, and so much more.
I fell in love with learning at a very young age. From the start I loved acquiring new skills, so I may be biased when it comes to my rating. I am very fortunate that unlike many High Schools, Oakleaf High School offers the Cambridge AICE program. I’m incredibly grateful that since being accepted I've taken classes that I wouldn’t have the opportunity too take if I wasn't enrolled in my current school. I moved to a different city for a short period of time my sophomore year; therefore, I got to get a feel for what a difference in education looks like. There, I struggled connecting with the teaching style and lower leveled content. Upon moving back to Oakleaf High school I was able to reflect and acknowledge just how lucky I was. The administration is attentive, the curriculum is advanced and my peers are open and diverse, varying from different backgrounds and religions. As OHS provides a healthy learning environment, I am able to navigate and grow into who I aspire to become.
Attending Oakleaf High School was a dream. The school has so many educational opportunities and programs such as AP, AICE, Dual Enrollment, and Honors. I was able to knock off a year of college through both the AICE and Dual Enrollment programs. The adminstrators and teachers are who make the experience all the more worth it. I can’t wait to walk across the stage at graduation. Go knights!
