Teachers are great but some can be annoying. Students and staff members are awesome! Academics is really good since there are a lot of AP classes with great teachers! If you are going into the STEM field(I am), this school is perfect for that. Administration can be improved though, some of them are not even happy to be there. Even though this a 10 year old school, there is a tremendous amount of school spirit! Sports are very competitive here because our school teams go to states very often and win! Oakdale High School overall is a really great high school, but administrators, food, facilities, and resources can be improved on.
I enjoyed my time at Oakdale High School. Although the four years certainly didn't go as expected, or how the movies implied high school is like, I felt my teachers were always kind and understanding towards me and my peers were supportive as well. There are many club and athletic opportunities as well. I highly enjoyed the French club and did three years of cross country and track. All of my coaches have cared deeply about seeing the team and individual athletes be successful while my teammates would reliably cheer me on through my races. My high school experience was mostly hindered by the pandemic, which robbed my class from both our junior and senior proms. Overall, I'm grateful that I went to Oakdale and have fond memories there.
Oakdale High School is a blue ribbon school and I can't take that away from them. Oakdale strives very hard to make sure that all there students get the attention they need. There are many programs and college opportunity that Oakdale promotes. The only thing that I would complain about is that I feel like some of the teachers are not qualified enough or can not connect or empathizes with the students. Also because of its location the Oakdale students are not very diverse. As a whole the school is a good school but of course it has it's problems, however I do strongly believe that Oakdale will help get you to college or wherever you want to go.
