Oakdale is a pretty new school. What stands out most about Oakdale is the academics and athletics. So many people here are student athletes and there's a huge sport culture. There are a lot of high-achieving students who go on to prestigious colleges and the school has a fantastic range of AP and dual enrollment classes. People here don't tend to be exclusive, so if you're not a star athlete or valedictorian-type you won't be left out. There are decent art and music programs but they receive less attention than sports. Still, they are fairly well provided for. My biggest qualm about Oakdale is that while I was here there was very little diversity, but during my time here this has improved astronomically and it will likely continue to do so. There aren't a whole lot of non-white and/or non-middle class students here but that's been changing and I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't welcome the growing diversity.

Oakdale is a really good school. There are lots of opportunities and support for those who seek them out. It can be easy to fall through the cracks though, so you have to advocate for yourself a lot. There are lots of AP and dual enrollment classes available in every subject. Most of my teachers have been good, although the bad ones I've had were awful. The main extracurriculars here are athletics, band, and theater. If you're interested in anything else, you won't find it here. Social life is pretty cliquey tbh and there are a lot of privileged white kids here. It's not cutthroat or very competitive, so it's important to be self-motivated. The food sucks. Oakdale's a really good school overall and you can go a lot of places from here.
I attended Oakdale High School for 3 1/2 years and have had a wonderful experience. The teachers are attentive. The school takes safety and security very seriously . The student body has great spirit and support for athletics. I have played on the volleyball team every year and we win States this year and the school was very involved and supportive . They offer and encourage to take many AP classes. I have enjoyed my time at OHS and feel prepared to move into the next level - college!
