Many pros. School has an amazing philosophy (i.e., seek holiness in the ordinary world). Academics are rigorous. Philosophy & history departments are outstanding. English courses are phenomenal. CHEM, Physics, and BIO instructors are solid. Catholic theology is made relevant. Chaplains are awesome! Music & theater dept is incredible. Athletics are good. Soccer, lacrosse & track are strong. Service is encouraged. Intern'l study is available. School forms strong women. Cons are: high tuition; high faculty turnover; inconsistent math instructor quality; lacking in foreign language courses; ethnic diversity exists, but outside of the classroom a missing element of friendly inclusiveness exists; school isn't equipped for learning differences & falls short of Catholic school guidelines; much subrosa mean behavior among girls goes uncorrected (on and offline)(school doesn't monitor seemingly libelous harmful student social media use) & college counseling could be better for the price.

We were very interested in Oakcrest’s approach to education. While we had limited experience with “single-sex” education we were convinced after talking with more seasoned parents that the school offered an academically challenging course loan in a supportive and collegial environment. Sealing the deal for us was the number of times we witnessed how happy the girls are at Oakcrest and the easy exchange between students of different grade levels. We appreciated the all-female faculty and coaching staff and its impact on the girl’s education in and outside of the classroom.

The school’s stated philosophy is to challenge “girls in grades 6-12 to develop their intellect, character, faith, and leadership potential to thrive in college and throughout their lives.” We’ve witnessed the results of an Oakcrest education first hand in all three of our daughters. We highly recommend the school. It bears good fruit!
Excellent school for intellectually driven young ladies. Administration and faculty are very nice, and have a genuine interest in the students. Our daughter excels academically here and has taken advantage of great international opportunities to sing in Rome and attend a London exchange program. She has also taken advantage of the faith formation available at the school. We picked the school because of its spirit of faith and liberal arts formation. These aspects have positively impacted and marked our daughter for the better. During the COVID 19 pandemic, the school transitioned smoothly to online learning and conference call instruction and partnered well with parents.
